Dear Friends at Harrow Baptist Church,

To our recent September News Letter we just want to add a note of gratitude
for your continued faithful support to us, spiritually with your prayers to
the Lord on our behalf, and practically for your quarterly gift of financial
support that we received in the month of June. We are richly blessed by you
all and continually thank the Lord for the team He has given us to make it
possible to serve here in Papua New Guinea.

We are glad to be back into life and ministry again here in the town of
Wewak which serves the Sepik missionaries. Of course each one of our
missionaries here have been our coworkers over the years so it has been
great to rub shoulders together again with them all. Just recently the
Mariama people reached out to their neighbouring village with bringing God's
Word to them. Remember, many of the Mariama people put their faith in the
Lord Jesus last year in May. Well some of the key Mariama believers along
with our missionaries there, team taught over a 2 month period through the
Bible to bring the Gospel message to their neighbour village. About 2 weeks
ago they heard why the Lord Jesus died for them, and rose again, having
victory over sin, death and the grave. Many there are now also part of the
family of God and we praise the Lord for what He is doing in the hearts of
many there. These have been exciting days!

On a flight just last week I had beside me a young tribal man about 19 years
old from another tribe who told me that he is just thrilled that he
understands the Gospel and will never have to fear evil spirits again. I
knew him before he was saved and it is neat to see the joy he has in knowing
the Lord today and that we can praise the Lord together as we talked
together. Exciting stuff!

Thank you again for standing with us in this work. We are here because we
desire that many of the tribal people in these remote jungle locations will
also have a chance to understand and believe in the finished work on the
cross through our Lord Jesus, who has saved all mankind from the penalty of
sin. But not only that, but that they will mature in all that they have
received in Christ Jesus and live abundant, rewarding lives in the Lord
where God has planted each one of them.

Serving together the King of Kings,

John and Joyce, Jaycee and Jared Meerstra
